New Items Recap: November 2015

Here’s a list of the items I added to my collection this month:

I’ve hit a bit of a slump lately with my Madonna collecting. As you can see, I only bought 5 items this month. I think the fact that Christmas is coming up has a bit to do with it since I need to save up money for that. A few of my international packages were also lost in recent months which has kind of put me off a bit. I’ve never really had problems with lost packages but I’ve had 3 since April. Anyway, one of the interesting items that I did buy this month is a copy of the insanely rare Australian CD maxi of “Erotica”. This CD was extremely limited so it is very hard to find one, and when they do come up they sell for a lot of money. Unfortunately, the copy I bought is damaged. I knew this going into it, I found it on Discogs and the seller showed me pictures beforehand. It looks like it was affected by moisture or heat (or both). The insert is very wrinkled and the artwork on the disc has a bit of texture to it from the damage. I don’t usually add such damaged items to my collection, but due to the rarity of this item and considering I didn’t pay very much for it, I’m adding it as is. Hopefully one day I can replace it.

Rebel Heart Japan Tour Edition CD+DVD

Well, I’m glad that Japan is giving us something special! I wish they would include some bonus tracks other than the remix that was already on the Japanese releases, but a DVD with 4 music videos is pretty good! I’d also love it if the artwork was different but it will most likely just be a different colored obi strip. Does Australia still release tour editions? It would be great if they did one as well!

Rebel Heart Tour (San Diego, October 29, 2015)

This was already my fourth show, so I’ll just say a few words about it. San Diego’s show provided me with the best view of Madonna so far. I was only a few rows from the tip of the heart. This really is the best place to be if you want to be up close to Madonna herself. It was once again a great show. I finally got to hear “Frozen” live, which actually worked better than I thought it would! She had actually asked for requests but I have a feeling she was going to do “Frozen” regardless. She also brought back “Who’s That Girl”, thank goodness. It’s good to know she’s not abandoning it completely. If there is a DVD/Blu-Ray release, I hope it makes the cut. Security were complete a-holes at this show. They actually came up to people at the start of the show telling them that they couldn’t record video. I saw a few confrontations between them and the fans, I even had a moment with one of them. Talk about buzz kills. Anyway, it was great to see Madonna perform at the heart. If you’re closer to the main stage, you really miss all of the heart action and just see Madonna’s back for several songs. I also had a great time at this show because it was a road trip of 4 of us fans. We got to the venue early in the afternoon and heard her rehearsing “Deeper And Deeper” and “Burning Up” from outside. We even saw a few of the dancers hanging out. My next shows will be in Miami. It will be nice to see the show again after a small break!
