Well, it’s here! My copy of the new USA 2-LP re-issue of Madonna’s landmark greatest hits album, The Immaculate Collection, arrived yesterday! This release is truly beautiful and such a treat to Madonna collectors! Unfortunately, it is not heavyweight vinyl like the recent UK colored vinyl re-releases of True Blue and Like A Prayer, but I don’t mind too much. The first record is a nice blue/white marbled color and the second is a metallic gold. The printing on the gatefold sleeve is very good and, thankfully, they used a metallic gold color on the logo banner instead of that boring flat orange gold color they used on subsequent re-printings of the CD and cassette. They also thankfully included copies of the original inner picture sleeves. Some sites are saying that this release is limited, others are not so who knows. Either way, you HAVE to get a copy! Of note is that this record is manufactured in the Netherlands even though it is made for sale in the USA. This release is an absolute must for every Madonna collection. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever green-lit this release. I say, let’s keep the colored vinyl reissues coming!
