Immaculate Collection Colored Vinyl Coming Next Month

Well now we know why The Immaculate Collection was not included in the recent USA LP re-issue series, they were planning something special with it! I got a tip-off about this release late last month, but it sounded too good to be true so I didn’t say anything about it. Well, it was confirmed this week that Rhino is releasing this album next month as a “Blue/White Marble And Gold Vinyl” 2-LP set! This is super exciting! Not sure if this will be in stores or an online exclusive (or how limited it will be), but I’ve already pre-ordered a copy from a web store called Bull Moose, just in case. I love that they are using the colors from the front cover for the records! I wish they had also done a limited run of colored LP’s for the other re-issues they’ve been releasing (luckily we got those 2 recent colored LP’s from the UK though). Anyway, I can’t wait for this release!

Quick Check-In / Comments On Music and American Life Re-Issues

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in. Why? ‘Cause I haven’t bought sh!t! You may have noticed I didn’t do a New Items Recap for November because I didn’t buy a single Madonna item last month. I don’t think that has happened in YEARS. Seriously. But I needed the break. It’s actually a pretty freeing not having to check ebay every day and to make sure that nobody stole my packages from my doorstep (which doesn’t really happen, but I get paranoid about it)! Incidentally, I did happen to go to the record store today and bought the new Music and American Life vinyl reissues. I don’t want to write a hefty review on these so I’ll just make a few comments:

Music: The artwork printing actually looks a little bit better than my original German copy (which I think was also a later re-print) and the colors are a little more saturated, but not overly so. This new reissue looks really good. Funnily, it includes the song “American Pie”, which as we all know was not on any of the original USA CDs or cassettes.

American Life: The blacks are a bit darker on the artwork of the re-issue but not a huge deal. It’s also still a gatefold but overall the gatefold sleeve is a lot thinner than the original German issue. A blue sticker? Why? Wouldn’t red have been better? That’s just a minor complaint!

Overall, these two editions look fantastic, as they should because they are both recent releases.
