Ebay: Bootleg Central
Ebay is a hot mess these days. It’s mostly bootlegs now. I am so tired of going on and having to scroll down through hundreds of fakes from Brazil. I’m so glad I’m not a new collector who has to wonder what’s real and what’s fake these days. Unless you’re actively seeking bootlegs and counterfeits, please do your research before you buy something that you think is genuine. There are a lot of homemade replicas listed. Ebay used to be so good at removing bootlegs and counterfeits but they obviously don’t care anymore. I don’t think record companies care anymore either because otherwise they would be on top of it. Ebay is still my main source for buying items so I will always use it but they need to start removing bootlegs and banning the people that make and post them for sale.

I’m so glad that I bit the bullet and finally bought this gorgeous CD! I already had the vinyl counterpart but I had been holding off on getting the CD because it’s always so expensive. I made an offer to a seller and he accepted it. The cover art is so great on these, certainly much better than the commercial releases. This is a CD-R with a label on top of the disc. I remember reading somewhere years ago that these were intended to be factory pressed discs, but they were pressed incorrectly and they had to quickly burn up some CD-R discs as replacements. Regardless, I still love it.
