Record Store Day 2021

So the official RSD list was released this week, and, for the second year in a row, there will be no Madonna releases. I can’t say I’m surprised but I am a little disappointed. I was ok taking a break from it last year but it would have been nice participating in it again this year. On the other hand, they’ve kind of exhausted all they can out of re-releasing anything from the first 3 albums, which make the most sense to re-release as far as the general public is concerned. Unless they re-issued the other 2 Japanese picture disc albums (Like A Virgin and True Blue), I’m not sure what they would release at this point. I will say, it would have been nice to get something from the Like A Prayer era. I’m not sure if RSD Black Friday will still be held this year in November so it will be interesting to see if there is a Madonna release then. There have been rumors that Madonna is back on Warner Bros., though that is not confirmed. If that’s true, I can only hope maybe they are saving any future reissues for when she is announced to be back on the label. Fat chance, right? Oh well!
